Learning to trust His timing over my own plans.
🌿 This Week’s Reflection
Can I be honest with you?
This week has felt like one of those weeks where I was being pulled in a hundred different directions. My thoughts were scattered, my plans kept shifting, and I found myself wanting answers that simply weren’t coming as quickly as I had hoped.
Maybe you’ve had weeks like that too.
As I spent time in my prayer closet, praying, reading God’s Word, and reflecting in my journal, I realized that what was making me feel unsettled wasn’t just everything happening around me.
It was my timeline.
Without even realizing it, I had begun measuring God’s faithfulness against my own expectations of when things should happen.
But God gently reminded me that His faithfulness has never been determined by my schedule.
His plans have always unfolded according to His perfect timing.
This week, He showed me that while my plans may be good, they won’t always align with His purpose. And if I’m honest, that’s where trust is tested––not when everything makes sense, but when God asks me to wait.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
– Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
As I reflected on this lesson, I couldn’t help but think about Abraham and Sarah.
God promised them a son.
Years passed.
Then more years.
There were moments when waiting became so difficult that they tried to help God’s promise happen in their own way.
But God’s promise was never dependent on their timing.
It was fulfilled exactly when God intended.
What felt like a delay wasn’t a denial.
It was preparation.
That truth encouraged my heart this week because it reminded me that God’s calendar doesn’t operate by my expectations.
His timing is never rushed.
It is never late.
It is always right.
✝️ Looking to Jesus
No one demonstrated perfect trust in the Father’s timing more than His Son Jesus.
Throughout His earthly ministry, people often wanted Him to act immediately. Yet Jesus repeatedly spoke of “His hour”–the perfect time appointed by the Father.
When it seemed as though nothing was happening, God was accomplishing His greatest work through Christ.
The cross came at the appointed time.
The resurrection came at the appointed time.
And because Jesus trusted the Father’s timing completely, we have the hope of salvation today.
If God could be trusted with timing of our redemption, we can trust Him with the timing of our lives..
🌿 Living It Out
Is there an area of your life where you’ve been asking, “Lord…when?”
Maybe you’ve been praying for healing.
A new opportunity.
Restoration.
Direction.
Or simply an answer.
This week, instead of asking God to hurry, ask Him to help you trust His timing.
Remember…
Waiting isn’t wasted when God is the One doing the preparing.

🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that Your plans are always greater than my own. Forgive me for the times I’ve allowed impatience to overshadow my trust in You.
Teach me to be still when I want to rush ahead. Help me rest in the confidence that You are never early, never late, but always right on time.
Thank You for the example of Abraham’s faith, and above all, for the perfect obedience of Jesus, who trusted Your will completely.
Strengthen my faith as I wait, and help me remember that every season of preparation has a purpose.
May I continue to trust Your heart even when I cannot yet understand Your timing.

As you begin a new week, remember this:
Jesus never rushed ahead of the Father’s will, and He never arrived too late.
The same Savior who perfectly trusted God’s timing walks with you today.
If He is asking you to wait, you can trust that He is also preparing.
Hold on to Him.
His timing has never failed.
