Coffee & Quiet Time: When Life Interrupts Your Plans, God is Still Present

Finding God’s faithfulness even when our schedules don’t go as expected.

🌸 Reflection

Have you ever had an entire day planned, only for life to completely rearrange it?

That’s been my life the last couple of days.

Thursday was supposed to be our usual day for sharing encouragement here on Grace & Growth. Instead, I spent the day making memories with my sweet four-year-old granddaughter. By the time the day ended, I was completely worn out–and if I’m being honest, my schedule didn’t go the way I had planned.

As I reflected on it later, I realized something beautiful. God wasn’t absent because my routine changed. He was present in every laugh, every hug, every little hand reaching for mine. Sometimes our ministry isn’t found behind a keyboard or in a perfectly planned schedule. Sometimes it’s found in simply loving the people God has placed right in front of us.

🩷 Living It Out

Life won’t always fit neatly into our calendars, and that’s okay. Faith isn’t measured by how perfectly we follow a schedule; it’s revealed in how faithfully we follow Christ wherever He leads us.

When unexpected moments interrupt our plans, let’s remember that interruptions are often opportunities. They remind us to extend grace to ourselves and to recognize that serving our families, showing love, and creating memories can also be acts of worship.

Today, instead of feeling guilty about what didn’t get done yesterday, let’s thank God for the moments He allowed us to experience and trust Him with everything still waiting on our to-do list.

🤍 Reflection Question

Have you ever looked back on an interrupted day and realized God was working through it all along?

I’d love to hear your story in the comments. Let’s encourage one another as we continue growing together in faith.

🙏🏾 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for reminding us that Your presence is not limited to our plans or routines. Help us to recognize You in both the quiet moments and the unexpected interruptions. Teach us to extend grace to ourselves when life doesn’t unfold as we expected and to cherish the people You’ve placed in our lives. May we continue to honor You, whether we’re studying Your Word, serving our families, or simply being present in the moments You have ordained.

In Jesus’ Mighty name,
Amen 💜
